Description of Mailing List options:

Message Moderation: Every submission to the list has to be approved by a moderator before they will be sent out to the list. "Not Moderated" submissions will be sent out to the list with no further verification.

Archived: Archived retains all submissions that can latter be requested by members of the list on demand. It is recommended that this option be off.

Block Archive: Makes viewing of the archive available only to moderators. It is recommended that this option be off if you are archiving but is disable if you are not.

Digest: Prepares a list of all submissions the can be retrieved. This is used as part of the archiving system. It is recommended that this option be off if you are archiving but is disable if you are not.

Prefix: Changes the subject line to the outgoing mail messages to include the name of the distributions list. For example a list with a name of "list" with this option all e-mails going through the system will have a subject that begins with [list]. It is recommended that this option be on.

Guard Archive: A request to the archive by a user not subscribed to the list will be rejected. It is recommended that this option be on if you are archiving but is disable if you are not.

Subscriptions no confirmation: Subscription requests will be processed with out verification by the user. "Requires Confirmation" will send an e-mail that the user will need to reply to before the subscription will be processed. It is recommended that this option be on so that subscriptions to the list be verified by the recipient. (Opt-In type system.)

Indexed for WWW Access:   Publishes the digest on the web for remote retrieval/viewing of posts. It is recommended that this option be off.

Unsubscribe confirmation: Submissions to un-subscribe will be processes with no further confirmation. "Requires Confirmation" will send an e-mail that the user will need to reply to before the submission to unsubscribe will be processed It is recommended that this option be set to require confirmation.

List Subscribers: Allows for moderators to request a full listing of the list subscribers. It is recommended that this option be set to "can not obtain."

Allow Remote Text Directory Edit: Allows moderators to edit the text directory (the message archive directory.) It is recommended that this option be off.

Moderator Posts Only: Ignores submission requests by those not moderators of the list.

ReQuest Address: Allows for users to send subscribe and unsubscribe requests to the list. It is recommended that this option be on.

Remote Administration: Turns on the tools to allow moderators to remote manage the list It is recommended that this option be off and that administration take place though Qmail Admin.

Subscription Moderation: requests to subscribe must be approved by a moderator. "Subscriptions not moderated" will allow anyone to join with out notifying the moderators.

Trailer: Places a footer on all messages going out to the list telling users who to unsubscribe. It is recommended that this option be on.

User Posts Only: Allows for submission to the list to be received only from subscribers to the list. It is recommended that this option be on.

Enable SQL support: Allows for the list submissions be added to a SQL database. It is recommended that this option be on.
